Getting help
If your phone has just been taken, start with the red box. Everything else can wait an hour.
- Check your email and WhatsApp — a report may already be there.
- Mark the device stolen in Tambo from any browser or another device, so reporting speeds up.
- Report the theft to the police with the IMEI, and give them the photograph and location.
- Call your mobile network and have the SIM blocked and the IMEI blacklisted.
- Do not go to the location yourself and do not confront anyone. Phones are replaceable.

Things support cannot do
Locate a phone that never reported
If a phone was switched off or destroyed before it obtained a position, there is nothing to retrieve. We can only show you what the phone managed to send.
Recover a phone, or blacklist an IMEI
Recovery is police work, and only your mobile network can blacklist a handset. We can give you a clean evidence pack to take to both.
Complaints
Tell us first — write to support@tambo-app.com and we will respond within complaint response days working days. If we cannot resolve it, a data protection complaint can go to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC contact details), and a consumer complaint to the Competition Authority of Kenya.
